Mechanical Designer

Role - Mechanical Designer - Our client is seeking a creative Designer to generate safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for the development or sustainment of new and existing products to meet the needs of the Company.

Location - North Bay

Responsibilities:

• Develop mechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles.

• Provide technical support to internal and external customers and ensure all relevant regulatory and client requirements are met.

• Ensure all initiatives and processes are in conformance with the Company’s established policies and corporate priorities.  Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget.

• Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting the design including Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

• Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements.

• Specify system components to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.

• Commission customized products and systems in house and at customer facilities.

• Maintain complete confidentiality pertaining to any company business.

• Comply with established rules, procedures and Health & Safety Policy mandates and report any non-compliance.

• Other tasks, projects and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary college diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.

• 5 years’ experience (preferred) as a Designer in a multi discipline engineering environment.

• Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical design and its application.

• Sound knowledge of detailing practices.

• Strong planning, organizational and time management skills Proficient in SolidWorks software and MS Office.

• Critical thinking with exceptional problem solving skills Able to handle multiple projects and activities simultaneously.

• Able to work independently or in a team environment.

• Demonstrate a high level of integrity and trust.

• Demonstrate composure under pressure.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Valid driver’s license.

Salary - Commensurate with experience
