Our client has a great opportunity for a Lead Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for the design, development, programming, review and certification of electrical and control systems for industrial equipment.

Location - Beautiful North Bay
Responsibilities;
Review, approve and apply their P.Eng. seal to engineering drawings, electrical schematics, calculations, control system designs and related engineering documents, where appropriate and in accordance with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) requirements and Company procedures.
Develop, review, approve and release PLC programs, HMI applications and other control system software for manufacturing and customer projects.
Specify and approve electrical, automation and control system components that meet engineering, safety and customer requirements.
Approve Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) procedures and verify compliance prior to equipment release.
Require engineering changes or design revisions where safety, regulatory compliance, quality or performance concerns are identified.
Provide technical direction and guidance to engineers, designers, technologists and other project team members regarding electrical and controls engineering matters. Recommend new technologies, engineering standards, software tools and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product performance, reliability and efficiency. Liaise directly with customers, suppliers, contractors and regulatory authorities on technical matters related to electrical and controls engineering
Qualifications;
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), with the ability and willingness to assume professional responsibility by reviewing, approving and sealing engineering documents.
Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial controls and automation engineering experience.
Strong engineering judgement and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to review and certify engineering designs. Strong understanding of industrial automation systems.
Strong project planning and organizational skills. Ability to mentor and develop technical staff. High Attention to detail and managing multiple projects and deadlines.
