Our client is seeking a dynamic Automation Specialists for their engineering and validation team whom will be responsible for programming, testing programable logic controller (PLC) and human machine interfaces (HMI)for life science equipment. Our client offers a complete range of technologies in the North American Pharmaceutical and Micro Electronics market. 


Location - West GTA




Automation Specialist 


Responsibilities:

• This individual must be highly motivated, able to work independently and manage and projects.

• Program PLC / HMI per functional charts.

• Produce and execute control systems test documentation.

• Work with control panel manufactures to verify panel design meets the system requirements.

• Work with start-up team to provide programming support via telephone and remote-control during equipment commissioning.

• Review functional specifications with the engineering team and provide support in their creation.

• Provide innovative ideas to operate and monitor the equipment.

• Ability to provide programming timelines and maintain them.

• Travel 5-10% of the time to customer sites both in the United States and Canada as required.

• Shall be eligible for a United States L1-B visa if required. .


Skills & Expertise:


• Minimum 3 years experience in process programming.

• Full programming knowledge of Allen Bradley (Rockwell) Unitronic’s PLC/HMI software packages including, RSLogix, RSview, Factory Talk, Visilogic.

• Siemens PLC software (TIA Portal) experience an asset.

• Inductive Automation Ignitions, IIOT, Optix, SQL experience an asset.

• Knowledge with the integration of PLC/HMI controls into building control systems.

• Knowledge of process control instrumentation.

• PID loop tuning (Pumps, heaters, coolers…)

• Familiarity with current versions of CSA, UL, NEC and NFPA electrical standards.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues over the phone and remotely with clients.

• Excellent verbal and written communications.

• Ability to read, understand and follow Quality System documentation.

• Good organizational skills. • Advanced computer skills required including basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.


Education:

• An ideal candidate typically possesses a college diploma in programable logic controls.
